Traveling Operator (CDL A) – Wichita, Kansas Location: 1690 N 167th W Goddard, KS 67052 Travel: Multi-state travel (Midwest Region) Compensation: Starting at $65,000 annually + incentives Job Summary: Blick's is seeking an operator to join our mobile production team. This role is primarily focused on operating and maintaining specialized liquid fertilizer equipment at customer sites across the Midwest. While a CDL is required, driving accounts for approximately 20% of the role. The majority of your time will be spent operating equipment, performing maintenance, supporting the production processes, and ensuring safety measures are met. You'll work as part of a 4-person mobile unit traveling to agriculture centers within a 16-state region. While traveling, daily per diem and lodging are provided. CDL Class A Truck Driver Key Responsibilities: Off-site Conduct DOT inspections. Assist in safe equipment transportation between job sites. Set up, operate, and pack up equipment at job sites. Prepare railcars for safe unloading and return transport. Document equipment inspections and make necessary field repairs before the next job. Maintain elog-books on vehicles and equipment. Utilize Microsoft Teams/Excel for documentation and reporting. Download apps and personal phone and utilize them for company business. On-site Uphold Process Safety Management (PSM) standards for equipment. Perform basic maintenance tasks on trucks, cars, and production equipment, replacing broken or worn components to ensure optimal functionality. Maintain cleanliness in shop, production areas, and company equipment. Safety training. Hands on mechanical training. CDL Class A Truck Driver Qualifications/Special Demands/Skills: Driving constitutes 20% of the job: CDL A License required and must be obtained within first 90 days of employment High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in the fertilizer industry is a plus, but not mandatory. Mechanical and maintenance proficiency. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and industry-specific software is a plus Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures, including the mandatory use of company-supplied personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, goggles, leather work gloves, chemical gloves, full face respirator, and steel-toe or sturdy leather boots. Ability to work in confined spaces and manage heights. Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout your shift. Typical work week involves departure from Wichita, KS and traveling within a 16-state area. While off-site with the unit, operating time is divided around the clock.
