JOB SUMMARY:

The Treasury Analyst will manage the daily banking relationship with the college’s operating bank, review and maintain financial records related to cash and banking activities, including approval of cash journal entries to track the organization’s cash position, ensuring reconciliation of receipts and disbursements across processing platforms, and any other related financial activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two to three years of accounting experience including preparation of reconciliations, analyses, and journal entries
  • Knowledge of integrated financial accounting systems
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written, and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Banner and related systems a plus
  • Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service orientation, ability to work independently, and great levels of responsibility required
  • Ability to travel between locations required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college required

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily treasury relationships with operating banks
  • Direct / Oversee financial analyst’s work relating to creating and posting journal entries for cash transactions
  • Manage various cash management software solutions, including oversight of system implementations and upgrades
  • Maintains the general ledger relating to cash and short-term investment accounts
  • Reconcile daily bank deposits and disbursements to the various processing platforms, and addresses inquiries from banks
  • Coordinate recording of ACH authorized and wire transfer bank activity and electronic checks
  • Monitor daily cash balances, including monitoring of daily bank activity, exception, and fraud reporting
  • Reviews charge back entries ensuring coordinating with departments that they are valid and in compliance with the College’s refund policies
  • Review system assurance reports and ensure that cash balances in the ERP system are in balance
  • Review transactions and ensure proper application of policies and procedures
  • Completion of month-end, year-end and audit reports, schedules and analyses
  • Assist with the month-end closing process
  • Coordinate check and ACH issuance to vendors
  • Ensure proper recording of loan fund cash activities
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
