Description
Treasury and Chief Investment Office (“TCIO”) oversees the firm's capital, balance sheet, liquidity, and funding strategies, including short-term funding, debt issuance and buybacks, liquidity risk management, rating agency relations, and corporate insurance. TCIO also manages structural interest rate and foreign exchange risks, investing excess deposits conservatively. Interest rate risk is addressed using investment securities and derivatives, while non-USD foreign exchange risk is managed through targeted hedging mandates. As a Controller within Treasury and CIO, you will support hedge accounting, financial control and regulatory reporting functions across Asia Pacific within the broader TCIO Asia Finance team. Job Responsibilities Oversee regular reconciliations between Front Office/Back Office platforms against ledgers performed by Supporting Team and provide assistance to resolve key issues. Interact with Head Office, Portfolio Managers, Middle Office and Firm-wide Finance Control Teams to explain, investigate and resolve Balance Sheet and P&L variances on a regular basis. Perform end-to-end month end close and financial reporting. Partner with global and offshore teams in Finance and other functions to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of management reporting, business results and scorecards. Participate in new business initiatives process to define Finance work flow, to provide analysis and advice around accounting booking strategies and operational procedures. Participate in firm-wide projects and initiatives which include the re-engineering of various back office systems, improvement on reporting analytics etc. Review current processes, identify opportunities for improving efficiency and controls and delivering tactical/strategic solutions, including robotic automation solutions. Provide support for any ad hoc requests and queries from various stakeholders. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Minimum 2 years’ work experience with investment banks or accounting firms under product control or financial control functions. Bachelor’s degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines. Candidates with more experience may be considered for Associate level. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Positive attitude in learning and taking up responsibilities and a good team player. Able to demonstrate strong control mindset and understanding of control importance. Independent, has strong sense of accountability and has strong attention to details. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Hold relevant certified qualifications, e.g. CPA and CFA. Proficient in MS Office, Alteryx, Tableau and SQL. Experience in other low code automation tools.
