Treasury Trader - Sydney
The Treasury Trader (aka Senior Treasury Analyst) assists with management of the Company’s day-to-day currency positions arising from its money transfer and business payments products.

Primary responsibilities include:

• managing Convera’s FX risk by hedging client trade activity with our foreign exchange bank counterparties within prescribed interest rate and currency risk limits
• quoting FX prices across multiple products, and structuring option contracts for the Sales team.
• complete operational functions including: FX option, spot, swap, and forward deal execution, entry of trade data into the Treasury risk management system, exotic currency booking and return processing
• management of daily and ad hoc reporting activities.
• This is a hybrid role, split between our modern Sydney CBD office (with water & city views), and WFH
• variable working hours are sometimes required to meet trading market availability

What we want from you

• Strong knowledge of financial markets and foreign exchange instruments, including FX forwards, and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of complex Option strategies.
• The diverse set of currency exposures, high volumes and fast paced environment requires flawless execution, attention to detail, precise communication, and aptitude for operational processes.
• Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong analytical skillset, and interest or experience in data management and entry level coding.
• programming knowledge would an advantage - VBA, Python, SQL
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Aptitude to formulate suggestions to address complicated financial risk scenarios
• Strong financial modeling, Excel, and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or related subject is preferred but not essential, likewise any further education (eg MBA)
