Our final core value is making every minute count, driving performance and efficiency. Mission of Treatment Coordinator The treatment coordinator reports to the Business Team Lead. The mission of the treatment coordinator is to help facilitate patient understanding of the treatment needed as well as being a patient advocate to help make treatment affordable. The treatment coordinator is accountable for creating a relationship with patients, scheduling patient appointments and following up with unscheduled treatment. The treatment coordinator must be knowledgeable about dentistry and be able to work with the doctor and patient to make the right treatment decision that is best for the patient. Key Performance Indicators Doctor production Treatment acceptance percentage Key Responsibilities Attain and maintain Five-Star Certification to qualify for handling new patient phone calls Manage the complete new patient process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience Take diagnostic x-rays and utilize intra-oral photography equipment, as needed Provide patient education and clearly present recommended treatment plans Understand patient insurance benefits and assist patients in maximizing their coverage, including performing insurance benefit checks Deliver financial presentations for proposed treatment, including outlining payment options and securing financial arrangements Demonstrate strong knowledge of available financial options and guide patients in selecting appropriate solutions Follow established protocols for managing and scheduling unscheduled appointments Compile and report required performance metrics to the Practice Administrator Clearly explain, promote, and uphold practice payment policies and procedures Collaborate with and support business team members with administrative or operational tasks as needed Key Competencies Strong First-Impression Skills Customer Focus Resourcefulness and Initiative Commitment to Excellence Adaptability Professional and Personable Demeanor Effective Stress Management Active Listening Skills High Ethical Standards and Integrity Appropriate Assertiveness Self-Awareness and Openness to Feedback Collaborative Team Player Enthusiasm and Passion for the Role Requirements Previous experience in a dental or medical office preferred Familiarity with treatment coordination or patient-facing administrative roles Ability to take x-rays (X-ray certification required or ability to obtain) Strong understanding of dental insurance benefits or willingness to learn Ability to confidently discuss financial options and present treatment plans Comfortable handling payments, financial arrangements, and sensitive patient information Strong communication skills (oral and written) Proficiency with dental practice software or ability to learn quickly Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation Professional, friendly, and patient-centered demeanor Dependability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills
