THE OPPORTUNITY

Rural City of Wangaratta seeks an enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced arborist to be a valued member of our Arboriculture Team. The person we are seeking will be enthusiastic about trees, have appropriate experience of tree management works, from planting, formative pruning and establishing newly planted trees, to the full range of tree inspection, assessment, maintenance, pruning and removal works. They will have experience in the operation of a range of mechanical plant and equipment including wood chipper, elevated work platform and pneumatic saws and have recognised arboriculture climbing skills.

Responsibilities:

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications: Minimum Certificate III in Arboriculture, supplemented by relevant certificates and qualifications.
  • Experience: Proven track record in tree management works, including climbing, pruning, and operation of specialized equipment.
  • Team Player: Strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Essential Certifications: Hold a Level 2 First Aid Certificate and a valid medium rigid driver’s license.
