Accountant - Corpwell Capital
Position Overview
Corpwell Capital is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting various accounting functions within our capital management firm. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in the financial services industry.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of all journal entries
  • Perform account reconciliations for bank accounts, investments, and other balance sheet items
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reports
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Investment Accounting

  • Record and track investment transactions across multiple portfolios
  • Calculate and report investment performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate records of capital calls, distributions, and fee calculations
  • Assist with valuation procedures for portfolio investments
  • Support investor reporting requirements

Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare supporting documentation for tax filings and audits
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes
  • Maintain documentation for regulatory examinations

Operational Support

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects
  • Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional initiatives

Required QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services or investment management
  • CPA certification preferred but not required
  • Experience with investment accounting software and portfolio management systems

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Familiarity with investment vehicles (private equity, hedge funds, etc.)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in asset management

Core Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CFA designation
  • Experience with fund administration or investment management
  • Knowledge of alternative investment structures
  • Experience with audit and regulatory examination processes
