Description Come join our triage team at Rockford Gastroenterology! The triage assistants work closely with the triage nurse to provide care to our patients. The position is full time with benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, eye insurance and 401k. CNA/CMA credential required. Starting from $17.75/hourly - $24.59/hourly commensurate upon experience. Definition of Position: Responsible for assisting Triage Nurses in areas assigned by Clinic Nurse Supervisor. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Responsibilities: A. Tracking Labs and x-rays B. Complete and track forms for patients procedures C. Answer prep related questions for procedures D. Other duties as assigned per nursing supervisor Guest Relations: A. Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior in work setting; maintains good interpersonal relationships. B. Cooperates with other departments for coordinating patient care. C. Adapts in changes in assignments and workload as necessitated by staffing changes and patient volumes. Professional performance: Adheres to philosophy, policies, and procedures of the organization. Supports organization’s goals. Attends mandatory and regular in-services Demonstrates respect and understanding of confidentiality for patients, staff and others. Assumes responsibility to keep informed of scheduled working days, changes in schedule, and arrives on time. Qualifications: A. High school graduate with one or more years of related work experience in GI endoscopy (preferred). B. CNA or CMA Certification C. Good communication skills. C. Able to maintain and comply with patient confidentiality and integrity policy on all matters. Essential Physical Demands: a. Position requires full range of motion, frequent, standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time b. Requires visual and hearing activity
Responsibilities
The Triage Assistant is responsible for assisting Triage Nurses in assigned areas under the Clinic Nurse Supervisor, which includes tracking labs and x-rays and completing necessary patient procedure forms. They must also answer patient questions related to procedure preparation and perform other duties as assigned.
