KAWERAK POSITION DESCRIPTION Location: Unalakleet, AK   DIVISION:                                         Community Services JOB TITLE:                                       Tribal Office Coordinator - Southern POSITION STATUS:                         Regular, Full Time EXEMPT STATUS:                           Non-Exempt PAY SCALE GRADE:                       10-11-12 ($34.80 - $45.39 DOE) REPORTS TO:                                 TA Accounting Manager Southern     BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: l)    Provide administrative support at the local level to facilitate information exchange and       delivery of services. 2)   Assist in gathering information on the needs of tribal members at the local level, forward       above information to Kawerak for inclusion in region-wide planning efforts. 3)   Establish and maintain the local filing system and office procedures. 4)   Receive visitors, answer phone calls and disseminate information. 5)   Assist with tribal enrollment, financial reports and other reports as necessary. 6)   Schedule meetings and conferences for Tribal Council. 7)   Record and transcribe minutes for all Tribal Council meetings. 8)   Compose letters and answer routine correspondence, type reports, grants and       correspondence. 9)   Assume responsibility for day-to-day office operations for the Tribal Council. l0) Assist tribal members with application forms and information requests at the local level. 11) Assume the primary responsibility to ensure the Tribal Progeny enrollments are kept up to date and supplying Tribal citizens with Tribal Identifications.  12) Assume the primary responsibilities of the daily operations of the DMV within the Tribal offices 13) Adheres to DMV SOPs and any revisions to those procedures as provided from time to time during the term of the Contract. 14) Maintains an acceptable error rate within DMV standards in the processing of DMV transactions. These minimum standards provide for a consistent and systematic review of DMV’s practices, records, and inventory to ensure that all offices are providing consistent service to customers, to ensure all transactions are properly accounted for, and to ensure accurate record keeping; and 15. Reads all system messages, including but not limited to USPVS, VLS, SPEXS, and PDPS. 16) Assume the primary responsibilities of daily operations of Food Bank operations within the Tribal offices. 17) Must be willing and able to work closely and collaborate with the Tribal Coordinator. 18) Must be willing and able to work evenings for Tribal Council meetings 19) Maintain and order supplies and inventory for the Tribal Office 20) Other duties as assigned by the Tribal Council President   QUALIFICATIONS: l)    High school diploma or G. E. D. equivalent. 2)   Two years previous secretarial or administrative experience. 3)   a.    Is at least 18 years of age and possesses a valid Alaska driver’s license or identification card; 2. Has no current actions against driver’s license if the employee has a driver’s license; 3. Be of good moral character per 2 AAC 91.020 (4)(A); 4. Has not in the last 10 years been convicted of a felony; 5. Has not in the last 5 years been convicted of a misdemeanor; 6. Has no convictions for fraudulent activity, including but not limited to, embezzlement, theft, forgery, larceny, burglary, falsification, or identity theft; 3)   Must be able to type.  Computer experience is desirable. 4)   Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills. 5)   Must be able to work well with the public. 6)   Ability to obtain a Food Workers Card if required.      Native Preference per Public Law 93-638.                                                                                           Approved (5/28/25)   SLOTTING: 10: HS Diploma or GED +2 years experience 11: HS Diploma or GED +4 years experience 12: HS Diploma or GED +6 years experience
