Description
In the Production Associate, Trim Line role you will serve as an essential element of the Fabrication team by providing functional expertise and support in all areas of the Trim including but not limited to allocation of materials, assembly, inspection, testing, and shipping in an assembly line process. You will effectively communicate and work with members of a team to complete your job function and meet safety, quality and productivity goals. Apply labels, stickers, locks, quarter turns, remove trims from paint line conveyer, assemble and install locks, and pack/band product in an assembly line process. Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate concerns appropriately. Assemble the molding and locks to finished trim components. Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Perform quality verification checks as instructed. Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner. Perform assigned function from oral / written instructions, drawings, travel documents, DMM system, manufacturing information, and hand drawn layout request. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned function. Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards. Work from manufacturing information such as Kanban cards, Work Instructions/ Method Sheets, requisitions and oral or written instructions. Use of tape measures required. Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one's function. Perform Lean Initiatives. (5-S, TPM, Continuous Flow, Standard Work) Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment. Perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned. Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process. High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50 mile radius) will be considered for this position. Experience with processes and procedures related to steel and copper fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control. Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing and paintline experience. Forklift experience, or willingness to learn. Some experience in assembly operation of trims, or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams is preferred. Experience with measuring devices (i.e. tape measure and calipers) POSITION CRITERIA: Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
