They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, as other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.  Work Direction: The IT & Digital Systems Manager exercises a level of responsibility as designated by the Executive Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), providing leadership and oversight for the church’s technology systems, infrastructure, and related services. Basic Function: The IT & Digital Systems Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, administration, security, and ongoing support of TUCC’s entire technology ecosystem. This includes network infrastructure, telecommunications, cloud platforms, software systems, data security, and digital tools used across ministries and operations. The IT & Digital Systems Manager ensures reliable, secure, and efficient technology services while managing vendor relationships, supporting staff, and aligning IT systems with the church’s mission and operational needs. The IT & Digital Systems Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and maintaining the information technology infrastructure of Trinity United Church of Christ. This includes network systems, telecommunications, software applications, and hardware across the church’s facilities. The IT & Digital Systems Manager works with internal staff and external vendors to ensure reliable technology services, system security, and effective technology training for staff and ministry leaders.   Duties and Responsibilities *Percent of Time   **E/N IT Infrastructure & Network Management   * Oversee configuration, installation, maintenance, and support of LAN/WAN systems and network infrastructure. * Ensure performance, reliability, and security of servers, firewalls, switches, and connectivity systems. * Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records. * Partner with Managed Service Provider (ProviNET) to monitor infrastructure and resolve issues. * Initiate and manage IT service tickets and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.     20% E   Page Break    Vendor & Managed Services Oversight * Serve as primary liaison with all third-party IT vendors and service providers. * Manage the relationship and service agreement with ProviNET, including performance and contract oversight. * Coordinate system upgrades, maintenance, and infrastructure improvements.     * Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and service providers. * Oversee vendor-supported systems including security platforms, telecommunications, and cloud services.     15% E Systems Administration & Application Management   * Administer and manage core systems including Microsoft 365, email, cloud applications, and user access. * Oversee licensing, provisioning, and deactivation of software (e.g., Adobe, Dropbox, SurveyMonkey, Constant Contact). * Act as system administrator for key platforms, ensuring proper access, usage, and governance. * Serve as escalation point for church management systems (ACS / Ministry Platform). * Maintain secure credential management and oversee transition of system access and passwords.     10% E Manage and support cloud-based phone systems (e.g., 8x8), including moves, adds, and changes.   * Troubleshoot communication system issues and coordinate vendor support. * Oversee implementation of new communication tools such as DialMyCalls. * Ensure reliable communication systems across multiple facilities. 10% E Data Security & Risk Management   * Oversee implementation and management of cybersecurity tools and protocols. * Administer security awareness platforms (e.g., phishing simulations and training tools). * Manage personal data protection tools for staff (e.g., Ironwall, Incogni). * Ensure compliance with data protection best practices and minimize organizational risk. * Monitor system vulnerabilities and coordinate mitigation efforts with vendors.   10% E Provide administrative oversight of websites, domains, and hosting platforms.   * Coordinate with Media and Ministry teams supporting streaming, mobile apps, and content platforms. * Ensure continuity and access to platforms such as websites, streaming tools, and digital media systems.     * Maintain visibility into all online tools used across ministries.   10% E Staff Support & Training * Provide onboarding and ongoing training for staff on IT systems and tools. * Offer troubleshooting support and guidance on best practices. * Equip ministry leaders and staff to effectively use technology resources.     10% E Strategic Planning & Implementation * Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and technology efficiency. * Lead implementation of new tools and systems aligned with organizational needs. * Support long-term IT planning and digital transformation initiatives.     10% E Other Duties * Perform other duties as assigned. 5% E *Percent of Time Should Equal 100%. – Statements Should Equal at Least 5%  **Essential (E) or Non-Essential (N) Duties/Responsibilities     Requirements: The IT & Digital Systems Manager must have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and professional experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of network administration, cloud-based systems, and telecommunications, along with experience managing vendors and outsourced IT service providers. This individual should demonstrate proficiency in systems administration, software licensing, and user access management, as well as a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices. Success in this role requires excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and strong communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate with staff and ministry leaders across varying levels of technical ability.   Work Schedule: The IT & Digital Systems Manager will generally work forty (40) hours per week, as arranged with church leadership. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for system upgrades or special events.   Confidentiality: Confidentiality is a condition of employment. Discretion is a condition of employment. It is not our intention to burden the IT & Digital Systems Manager with unusual or excessive physical exertion in the completion of duties assigned; however, due to the nature of the Information Technology Manager’s scope of responsibilities this may be unpreventable.
