Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The position, working as part of the Croydon & Kingston Area team will be responsible for the restoration of LV supplies on the UK Power Networks LV distribution system, carrying out jointing repairs on the HV and LV cable networks. After a period of appropriate training, you will be required to carry out the full range of Troubleperson activities including first line response and permanent fault repair work at voltages up to 33kV.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Location of faults on the Distribution network
  • The restoration of HV & LV supplies
  • Testing and switching on the HV & LV network – and understanding the results of the tests and acting appropriately
  • Any other relevant jointing duties
  • Supervision of excavating teams
  • Understanding operational and 1:500 diagrams
  • LV and HV jointing
  • Use of appropriate IT equipment including TDR, LV Faults sniffer and FFE equipment
  • Immediate supervision of a working party
