Description

Sunrock Industries Canada is one of Ontario’s fastest growing constructions companies, with a few service locations and more to come in the future. We are currently offering a unique opportunity for the right candidate to become part of our business.
We have an opening for a Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician at our Uxbridge location. A third or fourth year apprentice will be considered if ready to complete the apprenticeship program in the near future. Working hours are Monday to Friday and the odd Saturday. We have a fleet of new Kenworth trucks with concrete mixers and an Aggregate division of live bottoms and trailers.
We are looking for the right candidate with good communication skills and a passion for success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report daily to Uxbridge Shop and coordinate with daily operations for maintenance and repair
  • Handle shop duties, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance 
  • Provide hands-on support to ensure vehicles are ready and in optimal working condition
  • Work flexible hours, including Saturdays as needed, with consistent overtime opportunities
  • Performs repairs communicated on operator inspection forms both written and computerized
  • Conforms to company and manufacturer preventive maintenance and inspection guidelines.
  • Inspects, troubleshoots, observes, listens, and performs diagnostics for equipment in operation, to determine malfunction(s) and plan work procedures. Reports observations to immediate supervisor.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to fellow employees and willing to assist in guidance of an apprentice.  Research technical information and requisitions parts.
  • Diagnostics of gas and diesel engines and other major power train components utilizing the latest technical information.
  • Fabricates lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings
  • Assists with part inventory.
  • Completes assigned tasks, technical training modules, and programs.
  • Will be working on mixer trucks, dumps trucks, and trailers on a daily basis

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of truck maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Kenworth, Paccar, Cummins experience an Assest
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with proper time management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment 
  • An understanding of Hydraulics
  • Some computer skills for documentation and diagnostics. 
  • Must be able to have intermediate knowledge of diagnostic procedures utilizing manufacturers’ software and hardware to gauge machine health and its relationship to a condition monitoring program.
  • Must be able to have full understanding of preventive maintenance and inspection procedures including current knowledge of filtration, fluids and analysis as well as machine diagnostics.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changes in everyday operations
  • Welding experience an assest
  • May perform most parts of the tasks without direct supervision and instruction.
  • Must be able to have advanced knowledge of the task (name parts, tools and simple facts.)
  • Proven experience as a Truck and Coach technician or a similar role
  • Willing to be trained to perform safety inspections

Licences and Certification

  • Valid drivers licence
  • 310T Truck and Coach Licence
  • Construction related certificates
