Description Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanic Carpinito Brothers is a local, family owned and operated company in Kent, WA that is now hiring for full-time, year-round Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanics. Starting Wage $36-50/hour depending on experience. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, 401K, and vacation. WHAT WE DO: Our fleet is maintained in-house and consists of 20+ commercial vehicles including: dump trucks, transfer trucks, live floor trailers, reefers, and flat beds. We also run earth moving, material handling, and manufacturing equipment. We pride ourselves on our ability to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild rather than to replace. JOB DESCRIPTION INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Maintain fleet in a suitable and safe condition per DOT regulations and company satisfaction. Perform PM inspections and service at regular intervals. Diagnose and repair all types of diesel, gas, and electric equipment, as well as their mechanical, electrical, air, and fluid power systems. Perform cutting, welding, and fabrication as needed. Make field repairs on trucks and equipment when required. Record and maintain service records. Any and all other tasks requested by management. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently and as a team. Ability to openly and effectively communicate with supervisors and drivers to ensure proper repairs to vehicles. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have your own tools. Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and troubleshoot proper operation before and after repairs. Experience with gas/diesel engines and powertrains, hydraulics, electrical, heavy duty suspension and air brake systems. Must have good attendance and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50lbs. Capable of working while standing, sitting, crouching, or kneeling for extended periods of time. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with heavy truck tire mount/dismount and patching, or willingness to learn. Welding skills or willingness to learn. Experience with refrigeration both on-vehicle and trailer-mounted. CDL license is a plus!
Responsibilities
The Truck and Heavy Equipment Mechanic will maintain the fleet in a safe condition according to DOT regulations and perform diagnostics and repairs on various types of equipment. Responsibilities also include performing PM inspections, making field repairs, and maintaining service records.
