Control your own destiny! State Truck Collision is seeking to recruit an experienced Truck Body Repair Technician specializing in fleet repairs, to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for long term growth and opportunity.
State Truck Collision is seeking an Auto Fabricator to join our growing team of exceptional employees. MUST have previous experience with auto body work and repairs. We are looking someone who is energetic and reliable that has a diverse set of skills.
Experience working with commercial vehicles a huge plus, i.e., tractor trailers, box trucks, buses, vans, forklifts. This is NOT a car shop.
Must be a team player!
Hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday with opportunity for more hours.
PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE, and hard work is recognized.

TRUCK BODY REPAIR TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY

Position requires technician with strong knowledge in auto-body and various mechanical fabrication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to lift 70lbs
  • Strong measuring and math skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license: CDL preferred
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in body work
  • Ability to use PC for documenting repairs and time management
  • A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma is preferred
  • Ability to use ladders, crawl, kneel, stretch when working on vehicles
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug screening required by DOT

Responsibilities
  • Repair aluminum and fiberglass trailer and straight truck roofing
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
  • Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using wrenches or welding equipment
  • Paint surfaces after performing body repairs and order replacement parts, panels, and supplies
  • Follow established organizational safety procedures and DOT regulations. Maintains a neat work area
  • Use hand and power tools to remove or repair damaged parts, weld as needed, and properly install new parts
  • Perform collision repair and replacement work on all fleet vehicles and trailer bodies as assigned by the Fleet Manager
  • Perform repair work on vehicle bodies (replacing front-end components, body components, doors, frame under body components; hammering out dents, buckles, and other defects using blocks and hammers; filing, grinding, and sanding
  • Restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance
