As the AZ Truck Driver (SW Ontario Plants), you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials between plants. You will operate a tractor-trailer combination (AZ vehicle) and ensure that parts are delivered on time while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements. Location: 1403 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday – Thursday Shift Premium: $3.00 per hour for afternoons Job Duties Safely operate an AZ-rated tractor-trailer between plants located in Southwestern Ontario Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, report any issues, and ensure the truck is in good working order Reads work orders and follows instructions to determine work requirements Loads, unloads, and moves heavy materials within or near the plant and yard Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and unloaded at the required destination Properly place items for storage and access; moving material around as needed Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries Handle unexpected situations such as traffic delays, inclement weather, and vehicle breakdowns professionally Skills and Experience Experience with 10 or 13-speed transmission trucks Understand freight loading and unloading procedures, and secure loads properly to prevent shifting during transport Securing loads often require physical requirements such as bending, stretching, climbing and reaching Operate cranes and forklifts properly to load and unload materials Able to work outside in all weather conditions Capable of lifting and moving parts as necessary (up to 50 lbs.) Basic mechanical skills for vehicle troubleshooting Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong communication skills and ability to handle customer interactions professionally Qualifications Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly to both customers and internal team members Knowledge of transport regulations, vehicle maintenance and road safety What We Can Offer You Family-Oriented Company: Lots of social events, BBQ’s, pizza parties and more!
