JOB SUMMARY

The Driver role is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of goods in support of Altor’s mission to protect people, products, and the environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction within our transport services

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT/WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating commercial vehicles; CDL Class A or B required
  • Valid driver’s license and current medical card required
  • Experience in warehouse operations, including loading/unloading and inventory handling, preferred
  • Manufacturing or logistics industry experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in using handheld scanning devices and basic mobile technology for inventory and delivery tracking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Experience with transportation or logistics systems such as ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite), route optimization tools, or fleet management software is a plus.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles to complete daily deliveries, ensuring compliance with D.O.T. regulations and ALTOR safety standards.
  • Represent ALTOR professionally with a polite, positive attitude when interacting with customers and team members.
  • Accurately manage shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), pick sheets, and other required paperwork.
  • Secure all loads properly and operate vehicles using hands-free devices in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Use handheld scanners to retrieve, stage, load, and unload products according to layout specifications and warehouse procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks within the yard, assist with docking, and inspect containers as needed.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and participate in monthly inventory of onsite tractors and trailers.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and tools are available.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.
