Description Pay: $17/hr - $24/hr Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Local routes and no overnight driving! Summary: Drives diesel powered tractor trailer combination to pick up and deliver a variety of product to and from customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Holds valid CDL A license Organizes route to maintain service efficiency Maintains valid DOT physical certification Coordinates activity with shift supervisor and plant manager Maintains and keeps clean the tractor/trailer and sees it has proper service Maintains driver log according to I.C.C. regulations Assists workers in loading and unloading truck Reviews shipping documentation to insure that correct papers are available for parts delivered and received. Obtains customer representative signature as proof of delivery for all delivered goods Assures that all product is packaged in an appropriate manner to preclude damage to customer product and/or trailer. Audits orders for correct containers (customer owned) Maintains a neat and clean appearance and promotes good relationships with customers Reports all comments to managers (praise, complaints, desires…etc) Understands and applies company’s quality program Able to safely and effectively run the forklift Follows all written procedures Requirements Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
The truck driver is responsible for driving a diesel-powered tractor-trailer to pick up and deliver products to customers. They must maintain service efficiency, keep the vehicle clean, and ensure proper documentation for deliveries.
