Description
Operates under the supervision of the Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group (ADACG) Supervisor & Shift Lead. The truck driver drives a truck to transport containers, materials and equipment to various locations on the installation. Inspects and operates Tractor/Trailer combo in support of ADACG missions. Coordinates with and advises requesting units about support times and specific movement requirements. Supervises loading and unloading of trucks and trailers as required. Secures loads to truck using appropriate load-securing equipment. Provides support to off-site locations as required. Complies with all DOT/HCI safety and licensing requirements. Maintains Class A CDL license currency along with all required endorsement and maintain current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Ensures proper and safe working conditions and documents the condition of equipment. Performs basic vehicle maintenance, such as adding oil, radiator fluid, or fuel, as well as performing or assisting in minor repairs. Ensures all load-related documentation is complete and accurate. Support organizational safety program with the goal of zero accidents and incidents. Complies with OSHA, Fire Regulations, and workplace rules/regulations. Performs other tasks as assigned by management. General Duties and Responsibilities: The driver is responsible for keeping the truck and trailer in good working condition by performing daily PMCS (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services). Ensures vehicle inspections are conducted and discrepancies corrected by operator when possible or vehicles are turned in for maintenance. Performs risk assessments to determine safe driving to and within motor pools. Attends training as required. The ability to work overtime as required. May be required the go Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) Additional duties may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training Requirements:     Any combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating, GVWR, of 26,001 pounds or more, provides the GVWR of the vehicle or vehicles being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds. Must be able to tow a 48’ trailer.   Minimum Job and Education Requirements: High School/GED. Trade school desired. Three years of experience in this field.
