We are a sheet metal manufacturing business based in Bayside, Victoria, looking for an experienced and reliable Medium Rigid (MR) Truck Driver to join our team on a casual basis.

The role primarily involves delivering manufactured sheet metal and roofing products to customers and job sites throughout Melbourne and surrounding areas.

This is a casual position with flexible working hours, which may suit someone looking for additional work or a position that can work around other commitments.

Duties include:

• Driving MR trucks to make customer and job-site deliveries
• Loading and unloading sheet metal and roofing products
• Correctly strapping and securing loads
• General labouring and manual handling duties
• Moving and organising materials around the factory and vehicles
• Checking loads before leaving the factory
• Taking reasonable care of company vehicles and equipment
• Working safely around sheet metal and building materials

What we're looking for:

• Current MR licence or higher preferred
• Manual truck driving ability
• Previous truck driving/delivery experience preferred
• Experience securing and strapping loads
• Physically capable of carrying out general labouring and manual handling duties
• Reliable and punctual
• Good attitude and ability to work independently
• Good understanding of safe loading and transport practices

Full job description

We are looking for reliable and hardworking drivers to join our team in Melbourne.

We have opportunities for drivers with either a HR licence or a full Australian car licence, depending on the vehicle and role.

Requirements

• Valid Australian HR licence OR full car driver’s licence
• Good driving history
• Reliable, punctual and responsible
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to follow directions and complete deliveries efficiently
• Previous delivery, transport or removalist experience is an advantage, but training may be provided
• Must have the right to work in Australia

Duties

• Safely operate company vehicles
• Pick up and deliver goods to customers
• Load and unload items safely
• Complete delivery paperwork / electronic records
• Provide professional and friendly customer service
• Conduct basic vehicle checks
• Follow all road, safety and company procedures
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition
