About the role

The purpose of this position is to deliver goods internally and to customers externally in a safe and timely manner. The driver will be responsible for picking up and dropping off items, loading and unloading items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.

Key responsibilities

  • Operation of a vehicle 4.5 to 13.9 Tonnes GVM and up to 15 Tonnes 2 Axles
  • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers and/or businesses in a safe, timely manner
  • Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete and the customer is satisfied
  • Ensure items are complete and packed correctly
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles
  • Perform frequent unloading, lifting and carrying of goods (up to 15kg boxes, up to 20kg onion bag)
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from customers
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations

About you

  • Valid license to operate a vehicle 4.5 to 13.9 Tonnes GVM and up to 15 Tonnes 2 Axles
  • MR/HR license
  • Prior work experience as a truck driver
  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CV, etc)
  • No recent moving or non-moving violations
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
  • Adherence to Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation
  • Adherence to all other Laws & Legislation
  • Ability to work Sunday to Friday (4-5 Day roster) 7 pm to 3 am
