Description Milkhouse Candle Co. is seeking an experienced, reliable, and safety-conscious on-call, short-haul truck driver with a Class A CDL to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who values local routes and being home every day. Key Responsibilities Operate a company-owned Class A combination vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and local traffic laws Maneuver safely through rural, urban, and facility environments while maintaining control and awareness Drive scheduled short-haul routes, typically beginning and ending at the same facility Ensure on-time delivery and pick-up of products between company locations or partner facilities Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip to identify mechanical or safety concerns Report maintenance needs and safety issues promptly and accurately Complete and submit required shipping paperwork, load manifests, and delivery logs Comply with short-haul recordkeeping requirements by logging start/end times and total hours worked each day (per company procedures) Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transport Maintain communication with warehouse teams regarding route status, delivery updates, or any issues that arise Represent the company professionally with all external partners and customers Complete job tasks assigned Requirements Exercises the company’s Core Values Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude Comply with all safety guidelines at all times Maintain a clean work environment Adhere to quality procedures Must be available for occasional overtime High school diploma or equivalent required Valid Class A CDL Current DOT medical card Clean driving record Minimum of two years of verifiable CDL driving experience required Physical Demands Ability to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of the truck, bend, twist, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform basic freight handling duties Employees are frequently exposed to fragrances Schedule & Compensation On-Call, Monday-Friday during normal business hours Competitive hourly wage based on experience This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities.
