Description Position Summary Requires a reliable and safety-conscious Truck Driver to transport goods efficiently and on time to customers or distribution centers. The Truck Driver is responsible for vehicle inspections, loading and unloading cargo, maintaining accurate logs, and adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: · Operate commercial trucks (e.g., tractor-trailer, flatbed, box truck) to transport goods over local, regional, or long distances. · Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues before and after trips. · Plan routes using GPS and roadmaps to ensure timely deliveries. · Load and unload cargo safely and securely using appropriate tools and techniques. · Maintain communication with dispatchers and customers to report delays or issues. · Complete and maintain accurate records including logbooks, delivery paperwork, and DVIRs. · Comply with all DOT and company safety regulations and policies. · Report any accidents, injuries, or equipment damage immediately. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) · High school diploma or GED (preferred). · Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) – Class A or B depending on vehicle type. · Clean driving record with no recent violations. · Commercial driving experience (preferred). · Ability to operate a manual or automatic transmission vehicle. · Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. · Must be able to sit for extended periods (up to 11 hours/day). · Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50–100 lbs on a regular basis. · Frequent climbing in and out of the truck cab and trailer. · Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crouch to inspect vehicle and secure loads. · Visual and auditory ability to operate a vehicle safely and respond to traffic and signals. · Tolerance for driving in varying weather conditions and working outdoors when loading/unloading. · May be exposed to loud noises, vibrations, dust, and fumes during loading, unloading, and driving.
