About the role


Monaghan Fresh Produce is seeking a Truck Driver to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic road transport operation in the fresh produce industry. Based in Colac, VIC 3250, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of fresh produce, playing a vital role in ensuring our products reach customers in optimal condition. This role offers flexibility through casual work arrangements, making it ideal for those seeking variable hours.

What you'll be doing

  • Operating heavy vehicles to transport fresh produce safely and efficiently to designated locations
  • Conducting pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and roadworthiness
  • Adhering strictly to all traffic laws, regulations and safety requirements whilst operating on public roads
  • Maintaining accurate logbooks, delivery documentation and records as required by legislation
  • Loading and unloading fresh produce with care to minimise damage and spoilage
  • Meeting delivery schedules and timeframes to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch, warehouse and customer teams regarding deliveries and any issues
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the vehicle, particularly for fresh produce transport
  • Responding professionally to customer enquiries and concerns during deliveries

What we're looking for

  • Current, valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence appropriate for the vehicles you will operate
  • A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations or disqualifications
  • Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably within the fresh produce or food transport industry
  • Excellent knowledge of road safety practices and compliance with transport regulations, including fatigue management laws
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries and meet tight schedules
  • Physical fitness and ability to assist with loading and unloading operations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to safety
  • A current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
  • Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to conduct basic repairs or identify mechanical issues
