Truck/Heavy Machine Mechanic
Stonelife Landscaping Inc. is a full-service design and installation landscaping company, providing high quality landscaping services to residential and commercial clients. We all offer summer and winter property management. We are currently looking for a Junior Mechanic for our shop to service our vehicles and machinery. You will work under the supervision of senior mechanics to diagnose mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure all equipment is running efficiently. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in mechanical systems, basic knowledge of tools and machinery, and a commitment to safety and quality work.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance under preset maintenance program to ensure that trucks/machines continue to run smoothly
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions
  • Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools

Qualifications

  • Have at least 2 years of experience as a truck/heavy machine mechanic
  • Good skill in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to work with machine operators to diagnose machine issues and implement any corrective measures as needed
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence
