POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a compassionate truck logistics driver to join our team at Sai Dham Food Bank. If you’re a person with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid driver’s license with a clear record. Must have DZ and GZ licenses.
  • Proficiency in driving larger vehicles and adhering to traffic laws.
  • Experience as a mechanic performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various types of machinery and vehicles.
  • Skilled in diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Effective English communication skills for working with the team and recipients.
  • Physical ability to handle loading and unloading tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to volunteering.
  • Respectful and non-judgmental attitude towards those seeking assistance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Responsibilities

Truck Maintenance

  • Conduct periodic checks of the trucks to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, brake inspections, and replacement of worn parts.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical issues in the trucks.
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed, including dates, costs, and parts replaced.
  • Ensure that all trucks comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Warehouse Logistics

  • Supervise the arrival of products and materials, ensuring they match the orders and are in good condition.
  • Work with the Operations Manager on the efficient storage of products within the warehouse.
  • Plan and coordinate the distribution of products, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Optimize delivery routes to minimize costs and transportation times.
  • Maintain communication with food banks and with the operations manager.
  • Safely drive our trucks to pick up and deliver food items between designated locations.
  • Load and unload food items with care, following proper procedures to prevent damage by using a pump truck.
  • Coordinate with fellow volunteers and staff during loading and unloading.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and interactions with recipients.

Driver

  • Conduct routine truck inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Interact respectfully and compassionately with recipients and the community.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance your skills.
  • Responsible for the daily cleanness of the vehicle.
