Job Description The truck mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of mobile equipment such as trucks and trailers, including their upkeep, repair, and refurbishment. Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy vehicles and mobile equipment. Perform preventive and corrective inspections according to company standards. Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Conduct functional tests to ensure proper operation of the equipment. Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations. Qualifications To join our team: Training: DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent training. Requirement: PEP card. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy vehicle mechanics. Technical Knowledge: Proficient in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Computer Skills: Ability to use computerized diagnostic tools. Driver’s License Safety: Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and adherence to safety protocols. Additional Information Permanent full-time position Evening schedule: Monday to Thursday – 2:30 PM to 1:30 AM $1 premium for the evening shift Overtime paid after 40 hours American Iron & Metal Company and its subsidiaries offer equal employment opportunities to all.
