JOB DESCRIPTION

We currently have a full-time position available for a Truck Mechanic at our Fredericton (Hanwell) location.
This is an excellent opportunity for a team player with a contagious can-do attitude in the workplace. We’re looking for a diesel mechanic responsible for the repair and maintenance of large transport trucks. This job requires physical strength, which includes heavy lifting, frequent bending, working in tight spaces, and the ability to be on one’s feet or walk frequently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Truck Mechanic License will be an asset
  • Previous dealership experience is considered an asset
  • Computer diagnostics & repair skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Repairing and replacing parts and components of commercial truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
  • Inspect and test engines to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Estimate parts and labour costs
  • Perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance service
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
