The successful candidate will join a legal team of highly experienced lawyers and paralegals who have corporate, litigation, broker-dealer, and investment advisory practice backgrounds. This position reports to the Corporate Deputy General Counsel and is located in El Segundo, California, Dallas, Texas, or New York City.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Your responsibilities will include assisting internal counsel with the following:

  • Responding to and tracking legal inquiries from internal teams, including operations, services centers, compliance, and growth teams.
  • Conduct legal research and writing on a variety of trust and estate issues, such as state regulations on small estate affidavits, powers of attorney, probate laws and procedures, and account ownership and maintenance matters.
  • Analyze and propose practical solutions for complex legal questions relating to trusts, estates, wills, probate matters, and vulnerable adult incident escalations to best protect the business while helping end clients.
  • Collaborate closely with counsel to support legal reviews, policy updates, and process improvements.
  • Assist counsel in the design, testing, and refinement of new AI-driven legal tools, capabilities, and initiatives.
  • Assist as needed with drafting corporate resolutions for M&A transactions, bank networking transactions, dividend distributions, and other corporate governance matters.
