Position: Trust & Estates Legal Assistant (National Law Firm)
Location: Garden City, NY
Comp Package: Base to $90K, Paid Overtime, Bonus; Full Benefits; 401K, etc.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRUST & ESTATES LEGAL ASSISTANT:

  • 5+ years of Trusts & Estates experience in a law firm environment
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills with a professional demeanor
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid applications is a plus
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative support to attorneys, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and timekeeping
  • Coordinate and process attorney expense reports, travel arrangements, and internal workflow tasks
  • Prepare, file, and serve court documents for probate and estate proceedings, including fiduciary appointments and resignations, disclaimers, inventories, and claims against estates
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of Federal and New York State estate tax returns
  • Draft, revise, and proofread estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives (optional)
  • Answer attorney phone lines, manage messages, and maintain professional communication with clients and third parties
  • Prepare beneficiary designation forms and support asset transfers for trust and estate accounts
