Trust Lead SENDCO Salary: Negotiable Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer Location: Across all Trust schools (Trust-wide role) Start date: As soon as possible. About the Role Satis Education are seeking an experienced, strategic and highly effective Trust Lead SENDCO to lead and develop Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision across our client Trust, based in Cheshire. This is a pivotal leadership role, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Principals, school-based SENDCos and external agencies to ensure high-quality provision and improved outcomes for pupils with SEND. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping Trust-wide SEND strategy, ensuring statutory compliance, and embedding inclusive practice so that all pupils can access a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Lead the strategic development of SEND policy and provision across all Trust schools. Ensure full statutory compliance with SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice. Advise Trust leaders and Principals on SEND-related priorities, resourcing and improvement planning. Analyse school, local and national SEND data to inform decision-making and raise pupil achievement. Ensure SEND priorities are clearly reflected within school improvement plans. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national and local SEND initiatives and guidance. Provide regular evaluative reports on the effectiveness of SEND provision to the Trust Executive and Principals. Operational Oversight Oversee systems for the identification, assessment and support of pupils with SEND. Monitor the quality and impact of SEND targets and support plans across the Trust. Ensure effective communication with families and that pupils’ views are actively sought and acted upon. Support and quality assure Annual Reviews for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans. Liaise with local authorities, feeder schools and external agencies, particularly to support transition. Share and promote effective teaching strategies and inclusive practice for pupils with SEND. Lead and contribute to Trust-wide and in-school SEND training. Support developments to raise standards in literacy, numeracy and access to the wider curriculum. Who we are looking for: A qualified and experienced SENDCo with strong knowledge of SEND legislation and practice. Proven experience of strategic leadership and school improvement. The ability to work collaboratively across multiple schools and with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
