Pānui Mai | Read to Me is a growing New Zealand charity dedicated to improving children’s reading confidence through one-on-one volunteer sessions and community partnerships with local schools. As we look to expand our programme regionally and nationally, we are seeking a new Trustee who can help shape our future and strengthen our financial sustainability. About the Role We’re looking for an experienced, well-connected leader to join our Trustee Board and help drive the next stage of Pānui Mai’s growth. You will bring funding expertise, sector knowledge, and strong networks to help increase the funding we secure across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, community grants, and strategic relationships, initially in Hawke’s Bay and ideally throughout New Zealand. This governance role is ideal for someone who believes in the power of literacy, wants to give back, and can open doors to new funding opportunities. What You’ll Bring Proven experience in securing fundraising, philanthropy, partnerships or commercial sponsorships Strong networks and connections, ideally across business, philanthropy, Iwi, community, or corporate sectors Strategic thinking and confidence advising at a governance level Commitment to supporting equitable literacy outcomes for tamariki Ability to attend regular Trustee meetings (remote options available) and contribute between meetings as needed Why join Pānui Mai?
