Description
Lead the technical strategy in developing antenna architecture, specifications, computer modeling, testing, and validation of antennas for automotive applications. Interface directly with feature owners, supervisors, and other technical experts to ensure feature requirements are composed and aligned with vehicle architecture, to provide the desired customer experiences. Lead the team in developing packaging guidelines for antenna systems to ensure robust system performance. Lead and coach the team in research of sophisticated antenna designs for communication systems such as 5G NTN, C-V2X, UWB, etc., and develop sourcing requirements for these designs. Conduct RF System Link Budget analysis, RF Exposure Limits evaluations and RF Spectrum Management evaluations. Drive continuous improvements of antenna system performance, cost, and quality. Lead technology roadmap process and ensure that enablers for antennas are integrated into long term plans for all vehicles. Drive innovation by identifying areas of technology and directing design efforts to maintain a leadership position in the industry. Conduct competitive analysis of RF/Antenna systems (Technology, Product, Vehicle Segment, Market) Act as prime consultant on large projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. Explain complex technical issues to a variety of audiences, including experts and non-experts. Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of hands-on experience in antenna design and development using 3D, full-wave EM simulation tools such as HFSS, FEKO, CST, ADS, MATLAB, Simulink. 7+ years of hands-on experience with antenna test equipment such as antenna chambers, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, radio communication testers. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and strong background in Antennas and Wave Propagation theory. Strong collaborative mind-set and excellent interpersonal communication skills. PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field of study 10+ years of experience in any one of the following: antenna design and simulation, antenna test, wireless system design, wireless hardware design, wireless communications systems design and testing. Experience operating MVG antenna measurement systems. Experience with EM simulation of antenna systems integrated into large structures such as automobiles, aircraft, etc. Experience with RF design and simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, Genesys, etc. Experience with data processing tools such as Matlab, Python, etc. Good understanding of EMC principles in automotive applications. Experience with regulatory requirements for automotive components. Knowledge of the following technologies: 5G, C-V2X, MIMO, OFDM, HARQ, LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11n/ac/ax/ad, GPS/GNSS, SDARS, Bluetooth/BLE.
