JOB SUMMARY

We have an opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Senior Manager to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts in the Tucson, AZ region. This manager will oversee a team of ~10 EHS employees and will be responsible for the implementation of safety programs across the region. This position will report to the Tucson Region EHS Associate Director. This region includes 3 Raytheon sites – Palo Verde, Rita Road and Airport totaling over 15,000 employees. This site offers the EH&S professional an opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.
This job is onsite in Tucson, AZ. Applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with identification and mitigation of EH&S hazards.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

  • Knowledge and the application of the principals of regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Previous experience partnering with functional leaders or bargaining units
  • Previous experience solving problems across functions
  • Project management and execution skills
  • Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.
  • Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-pace environment and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and effective verbal communications.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead and develop an EHS team to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.
  • Partner with Engineering on Safety and Failure Review Boards.
  • Align team efforts with RTX and Raytheon EHS priorities; adapt and lead through shifting goals.
  • Foster a high-performing, engaged team culture; identify and remove obstacles to team success.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to streamline EHS-related processes and resolve issues.
  • Identify, assess, and control workplace hazards; promote proactive safety behaviors.
  • Implement and manage EHS programs, training, and compliance initiatives across multiple disciplines.
  • Prepare for and support audits, permits, and regulatory inspections with accurate documentation.
  • Maintain consistent EHS recordkeeping in line with policies and regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses; ensure timely corrective actions and documentation.
  • Build trust and relationships across all employee levels; serve as a visible, approachable EHS resource.
  • Drive continuous improvement through strategic EH&S initiatives.
  • Oversee environmental compliance (e.g., hazardous waste, water, air quality, stormwater, reporting).
  • Develop and implement sustainability programs focused on waste, water, and greenhouse gas reduction.
  • Identify and mitigate environmental risks; lead root cause investigations for environmental incidents.
