Job Description Summary As Lead Engineer for Turbine Aerodynamics, you will work on turbine aerodynamic design, analysis, and validation for the RISE Open Fan engine and technology development programs. You will utilize aerodynamic design and fluid mechanics analysis tools and established design principles to propose turbine aerodynamic designs to meet program requirements. Our team covers all turbine modules, including high- and low-pressure turbines, and turbine center and turbine rear frames. Discover more about our innovative Garching team and its cutting-edge work here: https://invent.ge/garching Job Description Roles and Responsibilities As part of GE Aerospace's RISE program, support the aerodynamic design, testing, and analysis of turbine components, specifically in the context of the Open Fan technology maturation and demonstration programs. Collaborate with global and diverse teams from multiple disciplines, including thermal, mechanical, and systems design. Communicate design risks to stakeholders to facilitate collective decision-making. Lead technical projects, prioritize activities to deliver program objectives on time, while meeting cost and quality requirements. Contribute to and lead technical reviews. Participate in problem solving and innovation initiatives. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, with industry experience in turbomachinery aerodynamic design or analysis. Strong understanding of the physics and principles associated with aerodynamic design. Proven track record in delivering on complex programs and ability to work in cross-functional global team in multi-cultural environments. Demonstrated ability to advance technology and generate innovative solutions. Fluency in English. Desired Characteristics Experience in scale and full-scale testing, including test planning, instrumentation, test execution and data analysis.
