Description

As part of upcoming turnaround activities, we are seeking experienced API Inspectors to join our team on a project basis. We have multiple projects we are looking to staff that vary in duration and size.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Turnaround API Inspector will provide inspection services in accordance with API and ABSA requirements during plant turnaround events. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-risk industrial environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current certification in one or more of the following:
  • API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector) minimum
  • ABSA In-Service Inspector Certificate of Competency considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inspection or NDE within oil & gas or petrochemical facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of AB-506, AB-512, AB-515, AB-526, ASME Section VIII, B31.3, and related codes.
  • Experience in turnaround, shutdown, or outage work environments.
  • Valid safety tickets (CSTS/CSO, H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space/Rescue, Fall Protection, etc.).
  • Strong communication and reporting skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on pressure vessels, piping, exchangers, tanks, and related assets
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections and evaluation of corrosion, erosion, cracking, and other degradation mechanisms.
  • Review and interpret NDE results (UT, MT, PT, WFMT, PAUT, etc.) to support inspection findings.
  • Verify compliance with ABSA requirements, CSA B51, ASME codes, and client-specific standards.
  • Document inspection results, prepare turnaround inspection reports, and provide repair recommendations.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, and turnaround teams to ensure inspection activities are properly scheduled and executed.
  • Support mechanical integrity assessments and issue work scopes for required repairs.
  • Ensure safety compliance and contribute to a strong safety culture on site.
