JOB SUMMARY

Tutors report to our Operations Manager, Education, and are members of our Operations
Team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative, first-class education and life skills to
young people with learning disabilities and additional needs between the ages of 16 and 25.
We need to highlight that this role is physically and emotionally demanding. You will be
working outdoors as part of your role, facing various weather conditions, with the need to
transport tools, water, and equipment.
The priorities in this role will be:
1. Designing suitable teaching and learning activities that enhance and progress the
development and learning for young people
2. Planning and delivering quality tutoring across a range of subjects including English
and Maths, within non-accredited and accredited programmes
3. Completing the quality assurance requirements which includes initial assessments,
Individual Learning Plans, progress reports, risk assessments, planning
documentation, ECHP reviews, internal verification and meetings
4. Be the main point of contact for families and other professional organisations
associated with the young person
5. Ensuring effective transition plans and actions are in place and implemented for
young people
6. Contribute to the growth and development of the EHCP pathway, working within a
dedicated team.
7. Work closely with our other teams and relevant stakeholders to know where, and
when, a young person using our services needs signposting for further support
8. Undertake any other such duties that lie reasonably within the scope of this role.
Who we’re looking for:
You will have experience of teaching young people who may be marginalised or vulnerable
and be comfortable working with them in groups or a 1-1 setting. You’ll bring experience
working with people with additional and/or special educational needs and disabilities. You
will be able to write person-centred learning interventions for the participants you work
with in partnership with your team and have an understanding of inclusive learning. You will
have strong communication skills and be able to build strong, trusted relationships that
extend beyond the young people to their families, schools and other partner agencies.
We want you to be passionate about the natural environment, enabling you to harness the
unique places we’re lucky enough to work in to enhance the learning experience for
participants. You will be happy working both in the classroom and outdoors all year round.
You’ll need to be patient, positive, adaptable, and personable to provide an inclusive,
accessible learning experience to each young person.
This role will be based at our Lawshall site, but we run services at sites across Suffolk
and Norfolk, and occasional travel may be expected to support delivery at other locations.

real sense of purpose and truly believe in our aim to help create a society where everyone
