Description POSITION TITLE: Tutor I CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Woodfords Indian Education Center SUPERVISOR: WIEC Director GRADE: NE8 $16.49 ($34,299.61) - $24.73 ($51,449.63) Position Summary: Under direct supervision the Tutor is responsible for providing educational tutoring assistance to Native American students. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: · Works with groups of Native American/Alaska Native (NA/AN) K-12th grade students with common educational needs. · Works with an individual NA/AN K-12th grade student with a prescribed educational plan(s) as needed. · Maintains accurate attendance and academic records. · Meets with appropriate individuals (i.e., teachers, parents, and other education staff) in the formulation of education plans for individual NA/AN K-12th grade students. · Provides leadership and supervision of NA/AN K-12th grade children during recreational cultural and enrichment activities. · Transports NA/AN K-12th grade children in Tribal vehicles for special field trips. · Informs NA/AN K-12th grade students and parents of individual student progress. · Performs other duties as required. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: TUTOR I · High School Diploma or GED plus one year experience working with students. · Must be able to assist in Elementary, Middle, and High School Math and Science. · Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation. · Preference will be given to Qualified Native American Indians.
