TUTOR – MATHS, ENGLISH AND ESOL

Location: Redcar
Rates: £17.85 PAYE | £22.61 Umbrella
Seven Resourcing is seeking a dedicated Tutor to deliver Maths, English, and ESOL programmes to adults in Redcar. This role involves teaching a minimum of 874 hours per academic year, supporting quality improvement processes, and contributing to the planning and development of the curriculum. You will also mentor sessional tutors, support learner progression, and play a key role in maintaining high teaching standards. Evening and occasional weekend work is required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Substantial experience teaching adults in Maths, English, or ESOL.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
  • UCPD Level 4/5 in English, Maths or ESOL (or willingness to work toward).
  • Experience of developing curriculum areas and mentoring staff.
  • Knowledge of adult learning legislation, apprenticeships, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends when required.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver inspiring, challenging, and well-structured lessons across Maths, English, and ESOL.
  • Support curriculum planning, lesson design, and resource development.
  • Mentor and support sessional tutors to ensure consistent teaching quality.
  • Contribute to the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Monitor learner progression, achievement, and success rates.
  • Undertake internal moderation and assessment of learners’ work.
  • Engage with external/internal quality inspections (e.g., Ofsted).
  • Promote and participate in learner enrolment and marketing events.
