Job Title: In-Home Tutor for 11th Grade Student (All Subjects)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and academically well-rounded tutor to support an 11th-grade student across all core subject areas, including math, science, English, and social studies. Tutoring will take place in the student’s home in Mission Hills and will be tailored to their individual learning needs and academic goals.
The tutor will work closely with the student, their family, and the team at Ignite to provide consistent, structured support. This includes developing a regular tutoring schedule, aligning instruction with school and Ignite learning plans, and maintaining open, ongoing communication with the family regarding progress and areas of need.

• Provide one-on-one academic support in core high school subjects
• Assist with homework, test preparation, and school projects
• Collaborate with Ignite staff and the student’s family to ensure consistent academic progress
• Establish and maintain a regular tutoring schedule that meets the student’s needs
• Maintain clear, proactive communication with the family to discuss progress, challenges, and goals
• Support the student in developing effective study skills, time management, and academic confidence
• Create a patient, positive, and engaging learning environment
