Do you have the confidence to lead, support and inspire young people who’ve experienced disrupted education — and help them build the skills they need for adulthood? At New Meaning Training (NMT), our new centre in Milton Keynes is delivering courses designed to give young people with additional needs a second chance to succeed. Many of our learners face social, emotional, or learning challenges. They may struggle with focus, trust, self-esteem or behaviour — but with the right encouragement and structure, they can thrive.
We’re looking for a Tutor who can create an engaging, supportive learning environment where young people feel seen, safe and motivated. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, but you do need to know how to connect with young people, manage behaviour calmly, and adapt your approach to different learners.
Our Milton Keynes centre currently offers Creative Art & Design, Construction Multiskills, Motor Mechanics, and Boost Workskills — a course focused on employability, life skills, and Functional Skills English and Maths. You may be asked to lead across more than one subject, but don’t worry — you don’t need to be an expert in everything. Any particular strength or passion you bring to one of these areas would be a distinct advantage.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already reaches young people — perhaps as a teaching assistant, youth worker or support staff — and is ready to step into a more independent role. We provide full training (including the Level 3 Award in Education & Training) and a strong onboarding programme to help you succeed.

ABOUT US:

New Meaning Training (NMT) offers education with a difference. We are an alternative education provider dedicated to helping young people aged 16–25 discover their strengths and develop the confidence and skills to earn their own living.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, around 300 young people from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, and Berkshire will join one of our programmes. Many of these students are referred by secondary schools, pupil referral units, and Special Education Needs settings.
Our journey began in 2015 with the opening of our first centre in High Wycombe, originally known as “Toolshed.” Ten years on, NMT continues to grow and with two new centres opening in September 2025 it reaches seven centres in total.
The new centre at Milton Keynes will offer four programmes; Creative Art & Design, Motor Mechanics, Construction Multiskills and Boost Workskills. All incorporate functional skills qualifications in Maths and English, along with tutorials to support our well-rounded approach. We also provide a Transition Support programme for young people with EHCPs who are not yet ready for a learning setting. 
NMT tailors its programmes to meet the needs of its learners, considering Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We comprehensively apply the principles of a Loving Care Approach (Trauma-Informed Practice) to ensure all young people receive the support they need to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in collaboration with the team, using well-developed schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Support learner induction and onboarding, including interviews and initial assessments.
  • Create and adapt educational resources to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Keep accurate records of learner progress and contribute to ongoing improvement plans.
  • Communicate effectively with learners, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment rooted in the Loving Care Approach.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and self-organisation to meet deadlines and work independently when required.
  • Participate in regular training, coaching, and self-reflection activities as part of your professional development.
  • Travel to learner or partner locations as needed using a business-insured vehicle.
