TUTOR OF ENGINEERING

Ref: 2425/183
Hours: 14.8 hours per week (0.4 fte) plus the possibility of additional part time variable hours
Salary: Up to 41,313 pro rata per annum* (subject to experience and qualifications).

Plus generous benefits. These include:

  • Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) - worth up to £7,000 over two years

This is a great opportunity to inspire our future engineers, teaching predominantly across our Level 3 programmes (e.g. BTEC Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, T Level). The successful candidate will bring a breadth of engineering knowledge and skills, from any of these disciplines i.e. from electronic/electrical to manufacturing, or mechanical to design type disciplines delivering predominantly ‘project’ based teaching, supporting students to develop skills to create successful design & engineering portfolios, prototypes and solutions in their field/specialism. General workshop skills are an advantage, as is any experience with the following areas :- Computer Numerical Control & Manufacture (Lathe & Mill), 2D / 3D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks), 3D printing/additive manufacture, building & programming electronics, microcontrollers / PLCs, robotics etc.

  • Staff with Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) via the Society for Education and Training (SET) are eligible to receive an enhanced salary of £42,738 - ask us for further detail
