1. Presentation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, management, entrepreneurship, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Previous business operations or sales consulting experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to carefully listen to and demonstrate patience with veteran entrepreneurs.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team to meet various deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, strategic vision, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas succinctly both orally and in writing to individuals and large audiences.
  • Ability to perform advanced computer skills, including conducting internet research, operating Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other PC-based programs.
  • Customer Resource Management experience (Salesforce, Siebel/Oracle, MS Dynamics, etc.).
  • Ability to perform case management.
  • Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple projects with critical time frames.
  • Ability to demonstrate expertise in the Veterans Preference registration process at the state and federal levels.
  • Knowledge of current business trends, including local, state, and federal programs, incentives, and partnerships.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective public contacts.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze business-related facts, and devise solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to prepare concise reports, training curricula, and presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides effective entrepreneur and business management consulting support to veteran clients in various situations and environments.
  • Identifies and apprises prospective business support resources available.
  • Performs research relative to specific business-related information requests.
  • Develops relationships with business support-related resources throughout assigned regions in Texas.
  • Process Veteran Verification Letters and Veteran-Owned Business Logos.
  • Works with veteran entrepreneurs and veteran business owners to benchmark status and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Provides business consulting support as needed.
  • Conducts business training classes and informational seminars.
  • Attend and participate in local, state, and federal meetings and training sessions specific to the Veterans Entrepreneur Program.
  • Works with other TVC programs and collaborates with other local, state, and federal agencies and entities to assist veterans and their families.
  • Develops and maintains the Veteran Entrepreneur database.
  • Work hours other than 7:30 am – 4:30 pm will be required for work-related functions.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
