Position Overview: The Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant is responsible for ensuring utensils, glassware, dishes are properly and thoroughly cleaned/prepped for external/internal guest use. Our associate journey begins and ends with a positive work environment and experience for our team.  CoteCares is the namesake for our culture, and our commitment to a culture where all associates feel respected, safe, empowered, appreciated, excited, included and a sense of belonging to something extremely special.  Whether it be through community involvement or internally working with each other, CoteCares expresses our world and what we want it to be.      Career Pathing: This role could expand into Prep and/or Cook III roles after established tenure and internal department training.  It depends on the individual to ensure that they are exceeding expectations and seeking guidance/training when offered.    Duties & Responsibilities:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Operate the industrial dishwasher, ensuring proper operation and appropriate level of cleanliness * Hand-wash/rinse items periodically, should it be necessary * Empty and clean all trash receptacles * Clean iced tea, coffee, milk, soda dispensers as necessary * Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources * Maintain dish storage, ensuring general cleanliness * Understand and follow sanitation policies at all times * Report any machine/equipment malfunction or sanitation/janitorial issues to appropriate part(ies) * Provide assistance to prep cook(s) and other staff as needed, particularly during peak times * Perform opening, closing side work, if assigned or necessary * Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately * Arrive on time for shift, providing appropriate relief to co-workers * Work well with diverse groups of people.   * Maintain personal hygiene    * Other duties may be assigned   Job Requirements: * Comfort with repetitive tasks on a daily basis * Ability to manage time well, meet imposed deadlines and ability to work flexible hours * The position requires the ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally. * This position requires the ability to stand, walk (6-7 hours at a time), climb stairs, reach & bend.   * The position requires that the employee be able to read basic chemical labels and write in complete sentences in submitting reports and assessments. * Ability to communicate appropriately in the workplace * Ability to meet sanitary skill standards deemed appropriate for position   Education & Experience  * High school diploma or GED or one (1) year equivalent experience * Valid drivers’ license for use of company vehicles may be required for certain roles
