Description JOB TITLE: Typhoon Halong Village Family Support Coordinator DIVISION: Family Services REPORTS TO: FSD Division Director POSITION STATUS: Temporary Non-Exempt, Full-Time JOB CLASS: 6 APPROVED: October 2024 SUMMARY: The Village Family Support Specialist will work in a team setting to help identify families throughout the AVCP region who have been displaced or heavily impacted by Tyhpoon Halong to track their needs and connect them to resources. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Including the following and other duties as assigned. • Work closely, in a team-oriented environment, with volunteers, AVCP program staff, managers, and Directors, and community partners. • Develop tracking spreadsheets for displaced families and evacuees in villages across the AVCP region. • Assist with efforts to reach families who are displaced. • Organize and maintain detailed records of needs identified. • Coordinate donation efforts in Bethel for displaced families in the AVCP region – receiving donations, operating hours, and sending donations to families throughout the region. • Develop case management system to ensure regular/routine interaction with families to assess ongoing needs. • Assist families with energy assistance, cash assistance, donation support and any other needs related to the storm including relocation needs, child care, behavioral health etc. • Maintains strict confidentiality of client information Requirements ACCOMMODATION: The position requires the ability to carry out the noted essential job duties as outlined above. EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required, plus 5 years of work experience in an office setting and experience working with families and Tribes in the AVCP region. KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed. • Basic knowledge in using a computer, and Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook E-Mail, and Word. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in team setting. • Must be highly organized and an independent worker.
