USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING SPECIALIST (6-Month Contract)

Reporting to the Director, QA & Compliance, the UAT Specialist’s primary mandate is to guarantee a level of quality for our products, and to help the software development team to identify problems early in the process. The company’s solutions are mission critical to the business operations of a very demanding clientele. The UAT Specialist is expected to:

  • Create user acceptance test plans/scripts and strategies
  • Defining and setting up test environments
  • Design test cases and executing them
  • Review system requirements and design to verify requirements implemented
  • Ensure development and supporting processes are in place and followed
  • Provide/Verify step-by-step installation instructions for all releases/patches

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and/or with minimal supervision on various program updates, fixes, patches and releases
  • Maintain and document status (including any milestones and known/unknown delay factors) for a given assigned task
  • Coordinate with CSC leads/manager further information required/status updates that can be forwarded to PMO/CSC/Development where need/appropriate
  • Maintain and record issues in a clear and concise manner using various tools
  • Participate in the development of client training programs by identifying learning opportunities
  • Improve internal system performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending changes
  • Provide an approximate ETA for all releases and to meet the ETA
  • Maintain reasonable discipline and decorum in general office areas
  • Note down and attempt any additional test scenarios outside the core requirements in case of unexpected or newly found situations warranting observation; detail where possible any and all reasoning or event modifiers that would warrant the additional fix
  • Forward any new or confirm existing limitations/flaws/exploits/bugs in a product release under testing to management and development.
  • Follow workflow and report any unclear or missing steps for a given item/task that will affect user acceptance testing
  • Other project/duties as assigned by manager

General Requirements

  • Advanced trouble-shooting and problem solving skills for dealing with escalated issues; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
  • Strong understanding of the fundamental operations of NRT’s commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment in order to provide technical guidance for escalated issues
  • Capable of setting up/establishing communication between kiosks/ATMs and various servers/environments.
  • Experience of testing methodologies and managing test cycles
  • Experience in project delivery
  • Good understanding of networking and networking equipment, server and PC hardware
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Be able to multitask effectively during busy times; exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations and when dealing with clients and subordinates
  • Ability to work responsibly with minimum supervision
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, in the English language; great facilitation skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
