POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced UAV Pilot to manage and execute drone operations across multiple active construction projects. This role is responsible for planning, flying, and processing drone missions using Propeller and DroneDeploy, as well as coordinating directly with project teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection.

SAFETY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must adhere to all site-specific safety protocols, including PPE requirements and hazard awareness.
• Ability to lift and carry drone equipment and accessories weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods on uneven terrain and active construction sites.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Will be required to complete safety training and maintain certifications as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required).
• Experience with Propeller and DroneDeploy platforms.
• Basic photo and video editing skills (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or similar tools).
• Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multiple project teams.
• Familiarity with construction site operations and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic flight schedule across multiple sites.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with photogrammetry, topographic mapping, or GIS.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows or CAD software.
• Knowledge of DJI drone platforms, especially RTK-enabled systems.

• Conduct drone flights on active construction sites for aerial imagery, video, and mapping.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to schedule and communicate flight operations.
• Use Propeller and DroneDeploy to plan missions, capture data, and generate deliverables such as orthomosaics, 3D models, and cut/fill reports.
• Edit and enhance aerial photos and videos for internal and client-facing presentations.
• Ensure all drone operations comply with FAA regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
• Maintain UAV equipment, perform pre & post-flight checks, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Organize and manage flight logs, data archives, and reporting workflows.
• Collaborate with internal VDC and BIM teams to integrate aerial data into project documentation and analysis.
