United Center Building Security (3rd Shift 11:45pm – 8am)  Part time / Evening and weekends availability required    Venue locations:  * United Center General Responsibilities:  Providing each guest and employees with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment to view events through knowledge of Security procedures and facility familiarization at United Center.   Demonstrated Skills:   * Must have security experience and/or PERC card. (Event experience or Criminal Justice studies preferred) * Flexible work schedule including evening and weekend hours * Average work hours will total 20 hours per week * Must be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of people * Excellent verbal communication skills and decision-making ability * Ability to sit or walk up to 2/3 of the work shift * Must be able to speak, read and comprehend English * Basic knowledge of computers and software related to the Security field * Customer Service Skills Specific Duties:   * Create a safe and secure environment for guest and employees * Promote a family atmosphere, guest enjoyment and safety * Visual search of guests and guests’ bags for prohibited items prior to admittance into facilities * Respond to exterior and interior radio calls * Monitor CCTV, door alarms, alarm systems * Using Security Vehicles for patrols and posts * Have complete knowledge of all facility policies and services * Be aware of safety hazards and reporting them appropriately * Have superior knowledge of facility services and physical layout * Facility policy enforcement * Guest complaint resolution * Promotional Item Distribution * Documenting and reporting all unsafe and unpresentable circumstances within the work area. * Miscellaneous operational (day of event) duties as directed Qualifications:    * Must have security experience and/or PERC card. (Event experience or Criminal Justice studies preferred) * High School Diploma or equivalent background * Must be 18 years of age or older * Valid Driver’s License * Must be available to work evening and weekend hours * Must be able to fully perform the essential functions of the job * Must be punctual and able to comply with attendance standards * Must be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of people * Must be able to speak, read and comprehend English * Must have strong people skills and able to make firm decisions. * Ability to lift up to 10 pounds up to 1/3 of the work shift Additional information:    * Pay Rate = $20 per hour * The individual is required to walk up and down several stairs throughout the duration of the event. The individual may be required to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places or work in outdoor weather conditions. ·        The position requires ability to stand for 3 quarters (¾) of shift. The use of hands, stooping, kneeling or reaching with hands may be required during shift. There may be lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements: color and the ability to focus.
