JOB SUMMARY
This IHUB post is with UK Strategic Command within the Unified Career Management (UCM) and provides support to UCM North and South hubs based in Whale Island, Portsmouth and Kentigern House, Glasgow.
The UCM Team delivers the key functions of CM, Work Force Plans and personnel policy for tri-Service cohorts within the UCM model. The first UCM Cohort (Cyber) launched in June 2021 with responsibility for medical cohorts transferring to UKStratCom in 2022 and 2023; the HUMINT Cohort was launched late 2024. This sees personnel from the RN, RM, Army and RAF within UCM models experiencing the same career management, career pathways and terms and conditions of Service. This job brings an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team.
Strategic Command develops, generates, operates, integrates unique and pan-Defence capabilities to maintain operational and strategic advantage. Unified Career Management is a pan-Defence people transformation programme bringing career management, workforce planning and policy under a lead command.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for supporting the IHub Mgr and ensuring that there is an attitude of continuous improvement within the UCM Team towards knowledge management and exploitation. The position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all UCM SharePoint pages, ensuring that they are easy to navigate and enable users to find information and products quickly and efficiently.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
