R-121970 About the Role Join Insomniac’s UI/UX Department and help build our next industry-inspiring player experience. As a UI Artist Intern, you’ll design and implement intuitive, accessible, and visually stunning interfaces that help players navigate, connect, and play with ease. You’ll collaborate with artists, designers, and developers to bring AAA-quality visuals to life and learn how to deliver seamless user experiences in a professional game studio setting. What You’ll Do Create and iterate on UI visuals including wireframes, mockups, motion comps, iconography, and prototypes Implement and polish in-game UI elements in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams Contribute to UI/UX documentation, feedback sessions, and team design reviews Stay up to date on design trends and advocate for player accessibility and usability What You’ll Learn End-to-end UI/UX design workflows in AAA game development Best practices in visual design, motion, and user experience Collaboration across disciplines in a professional, creative environment What We’re Looking For Portfolio required. Polished detail-oriented visual user interface / screen design work - particularly with an orientation towards video game content. Illustration, graphic design, animation, and motion graphics work is also acceptable only as supporting material to the main UI/UX portfolio. Competency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Animate, After Effects, Illustrator) Understanding of digital design fundamentals, interaction design, and usability patterns Strong game design sensibilities and a desire to create innovative player experiences Familiarity with game engines and implementation workflows Passion for game accessibility and player advocacy Eligibility Students with expected graduation between May 2025 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates. Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period. Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate.
